The Gardners have been some of our closest family friends for over a decade. They moved to Kansas when I was about 9, and we quickly became close. Some of our mutual friends even came up with a "new" name for us - the Garvis family! It was pretty rare for any of us to be seen doing anything without the others. A few years ago, they got the chance to move back home to the Seattle area, and ever since then we've managed to stay in touch (thank you, social media!). When Annelise contacted me to shoot her upcoming March 2017 wedding, I was thrilled!
Just for fun, I decided to offer to fly up to Seattle to shoot their engagement session this summer. I figured it would be the perfect opportunity to do something adventurous before being a little more strapped down in October with a new baby. I thought it'd be fun to invite my sisters along, and they loved the idea of a "sister trip"! We spent few days exploring famous Seattle landmarks like the Space Needle, Kerry Park, and the Waterfront while shooting their engagement photos.
One of my favorite locations was the beach where Jared proposed. The light was amazing and it was definitely a difference from the Kansas locations I'm used to!
Jared & Annelise are the sweetest couple. A few years ago, they met in college while Annelise was studying ASL and it's been history ever since! They balance each other perfectly and I can't wait to capture them tying the knot.
Congratulations, you two!
